A short giant slalom ski race organized by Skiclub Sankt Anton am Arlberg will round up the conference week on Friday afternoon from 2 – 4 pm.
We are very thankful to our sponsors Agilent, AMETEK/Spectro, Analytik Jena, Meinhard/ESI, Perkin Elmer, Solutions 4 Science, Shimadzu and Thermo Fisher. Prizes will be provided to both the best three female and male skiers. The event will be accompanied with nice food and drinks. Further, with Stephan Hann (BOKU Vienna) and Norbert Jakubowski (BAM, Berlin), we will have the best sports commentators from the organizing and scientific committee on board.
Concerning your participation, you may consider that:
- 1) ...you have to organize the skiing equipment yourself beforehand. Thus, you may either bring your personal skiing gear or rent the equipment in one of the local sports shops at your own costs. (Please see the webpage for our sport shop partners ewcps2017/venue. Online pre-reservation is recommended and gives better deals!)
- 2) ...participation is at own risk. We highly recommend to wear helments during the race. These can also be rent at the sports shops along with the equipment.
- 3) ...startnumbers will be distributed right before the race during lunch time (further information will be provided in time).
- 4) ...the giant slalom is easy to do. The slope for the race is located right behind the conference hall. Please judge for yourself if you have the confidence to participate. It should be fun in the end, not pain!
